SpeedPilot Privacy Policy

Effective date: May 5, 2026

SpeedPilot is designed to control HTML5 video playback speed directly inside your browser.

Data Collection

SpeedPilot does not collect, sell, transmit, or share personal information. The extension does not use analytics, advertising trackers, remote logging, or external servers.

Data Stored Locally

SpeedPilot stores only user preferences, such as the selected playback speed, whether speed should be remembered, and whether the on-page HUD should be shown. These settings are saved using Chrome storage so they can remain available between browser sessions.

Page Content

SpeedPilot detects HTML5 video elements on the active web page only when needed to adjust playback speed. This processing happens locally in your browser. Page content, video content, and browsing activity are not sent to the developer or to any third-party service.

Permissions

SpeedPilot requests the tabs permission to identify and message the active tab when the user opens the extension popup. It requests the storage permission to save user speed preferences.

Third Parties

SpeedPilot does not integrate with third-party APIs and does not transfer user data to third parties.

Changes

This policy may be updated if the extension changes. Updates will be reflected on this page with a new effective date.
