PalettePick - Color Picker & Palette

1. Overview

PalettePick ("the Extension") is a Chrome browser extension that helps designers and developers pick colors from any webpage and organize them into reusable palettes. We are committed to protecting your privacy.

2. Data Collection

PalettePick does NOT collect, transmit, or store any personal data.

Specifically, we do NOT collect:

Browsing history or URLs
Personal information (name, email, IP address, etc.)
Page content or screenshots
Analytics or usage data
Cookies or tracking identifiers

3. Data Storage

All data used by PalettePick — your picked colors, recent history, and saved palettes — is stored locally on your device using Chrome's built-in chrome.storage.local API. This data:

Never leaves your device
Is never transmitted to any server
Is only accessible to the extension itself
Can be cleared at any time using the trash icon in the popup, or by uninstalling the extension

4. How Color Picking Works

PalettePick uses the browser's native EyeDropper API (window.EyeDropper), which is built into Chrome. When you click "Pick a color":

Chrome itself displays the eyedropper overlay
You click any pixel anywhere on screen
Chrome returns only the sRGB hex value of that single pixel to the extension
No screenshots, page content, or surrounding pixels are accessed

5. Permissions

PalettePick requests only the following permission:

storage — Used to save your recent colors and custom palettes locally on your device.

No other permissions are requested. The extension does not need activeTab, tabs, host_permissions, or any network access.

6. Third-Party Services

PalettePick does not use any third-party services, APIs, analytics, or tracking tools.

7. Network Requests

PalettePick makes no network requests of any kind. The extension operates entirely offline.

8. Children's Privacy

PalettePick does not knowingly collect any data from anyone, including children under the age of 13.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated revision date.
